Group Brainspotting

Grief Work with Brainspotting and Expressive Arts Therapy

Grief Group Therapy: Embracing Sorrow Together

Grief is an intricate emotion that touches the deepest parts of our souls. It can feel overwhelming, isolating, and unending. However, when we come together in community, the journey through grief becomes a shared path, offering solace and understanding. In this grief group therapy, we will step onto the healing ground and enter a sacred ritual space where we will embrace our sorrow and tenderly hold it as we walk through the gates of grief together.

The Power of Community in Healing

Grief, though deeply personal, is not something we should bear alone. The presence of others who understand and share our sorrow can provide comfort and strength. In a group setting, we find:

  • Companionship: Knowing that others are walking a similar path can alleviate feelings of isolation.

  • Shared Stories: Listening to others’ experiences can provide new perspectives and insights into our own grief.

  • Collective Strength: Together, we can hold space for each other’s emotions, making the burden a bit lighter.

Creating a Ritual Space for Healing

Rituals have been used across cultures and time to signify transformation and healing. In our grief group therapy, we will create a ritual space that honors each person’s unique journey while fostering a collective bond.

Elements of Our Ritual Space
  1. Setting Intentions: We will begin by setting personal and group intentions, focusing on what we hope to gain and offer during our sessions.

  2. Symbolic Gestures: Whether lighting a candle, placing a stone, or sharing a meaningful object, these gestures can help ground us and create a sense of continuity.

  3. Spiritual Practices: Through meditation, brainspotting and expressive arts therapy, we will cultivate mindfulness and presence, allowing us to be fully present with our emotions.

Embracing and Holding Our Sorrow

Grief is not something to be rushed or avoided. In our therapy group, we will use brainspotting to process and release strong emotions around our grief and we will integrate this with expressive arts therapy.

Walking Through the Gates of Grief

In this sacred space, we will walk through the gates of grief together, holding each other tenderly as we navigate this complex and profound journey. Let’s embrace this opportunity for healing and connection, knowing that we are stronger together.
