Yoga

Goddess Restore ~ Goddess Circle

My Goddess Restore yoga classes are a combination of therapeutic yoga, energy healing and goddess ritual. These classes can include Restorative Yoga, Soma Yoga, Reiki, Dance, Thai Massage, Thai Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Yoga Nidra. In these 2 – 3 hour Yoga classes Goddess Ritual is offered to create sacred space and invoke the Goddess. Restorative Yoga is introduced to deepen your relaxation and take you to a deep state of rest. Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation practice, takes you further into surrendering and releasing muscular, emotional and mental tension and imprints these marked changes at an unconscious and subconscious level. The combination of these therapeutic modalities with Reiki, Thai Massage, Thai Reflexology and Aromatherapy, and Dance will leave you floating is a state of pure and absolute bliss.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is an opportunity to deeply relax, rest and rejuvenate your body while releasing stress. With the support of props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks you are invited to rest in restorative yoga poses that allow the body to fully surrender, and let go. Restorative yoga is nourishing for the spine, organs, lymphatic system, digestive system, nervous system and circulatory system as gentle inversions are often incorporated to reverse the effects of gravity. Restorative yoga balances prana, the masculine energy in the upper body, and apana, the feminine energy in the lower body, so you are not overly stimulated or depleted but instead left feeling completely rejuvenated.

All of my Goddess Restore classes include Restorative Yoga.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra means conscious deep sleep or yogic sleep. It is a potent, ancient meditation practice. Yoga Nidra is a systematic method of inducing deep relaxation and stillness on a physical, mental and emotional level. If practiced on a regular basis, Yoga Nidra can also clear karmic patterns and negative impressions and imprint new positive intentions or a sankalpa into the practitioner. At the beginning and end of your practice you are asked to create a heart centred intention that, when practiced on a regular basis, has the ability to manifest positive change in your life and well being. During your Yoga Nidra practice, which simply involves resting on your back in a supported savasana pose, you allow the teacher to guide your awareness through your body. From here, you leave the waking state, go through the dreaming state of sleep and go into the deep sleep state yet remain fully awake. Therefore, Yoga Nidra invokes alpha, theta and delta brain waves. The experience of Yoga Nidra can leave you feeling rested, rejuvenated and absolutely Bliss Full! This practice is suitable for everyone and is especially beneficial for anyone suffering from anxiety, PTSD, and insomnia.

Soma Yoga

Soma Yoga is an integration of Hanna Somatic Education, the work of Moshe Feldenkrais, The Tensegrity Repair Series and Hatha Yoga. It is a slow, gentle movement therapy I created that has profound effects on the body. In these classes I introduce embodied awareness, breath work, and slow therapeutic movements to increase your internal body perception so you may perceive your body from within. From this deeper, sensory knowing and awakened interoception, you will connect with areas in your body that hold pain, discomfort, and muscular tension. Then, with this neuromuscular movement re-education therapy, you may release these patterns of holding to regain your inherent state of grace and receive freedom in movement.

Kids Yoga

Pre-registered and PD Day classes for ages 4-11

My Kids Yoga classes incorporate age appropriate kids yoga postures, brain gym activities, breathing exercises, cooperative yoga games, creative movement, meditation, relaxation, Yoga Nidra and simple visualization exercises in a fun, supportive, friendly environment. In these classes your child will learn playful relaxation techniques, calming strategies, and have some good yoga fun. Your child will gain improved balance, coordination, strength, cooperation skills and flexibility and have lots of fun during these classes! All classes include and healthy allergy free snack. Classes are offered at Arrive Yoga and Mindfulness Centre and at Trillium Waldorf School. Please contact me at lisa@lisacipparone.ca for details.

Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:00 pm

PD Day Kids Yoga classes run from 10:30 to 12:30 on each UGSB at Arrive Yoga and Mindfulness Centre.

Kids Yoga Birthday Parties and Celebrations

Kids Yoga Birthday Parties offer a playful approach to birthday celebrations and yoga for children.

During a Kids Yoga Birthday party, I combine fun yoga poses, breathing exercises, creative movement and group games which allow children to explore this form of exercise naturally. In this party setting not only will kids experience some wonderful birthday fun they will develop body awareness, strength and flexibility. They will practice poses that improve balance, coordination and gross motor skills. The children will also be introduced to Brain Gym, which are physical exercises that help integrate the left and right brain function, encouraging whole brain thinking as well as Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation practice. All parties include a healthy, allergy free snack. Cupcakes and main meal is provided by the parent.

Kids yoga parties take place at your home or at various locations around Guelph.

Fee: $275 for a 2 hour Kids Yoga Party for 10 children. Price also includes rent for space and 10 yoga mats.

Teen Restorative Yoga and Relaxation

Pre-Registered for ages 12-18

 Teen Restorative Yoga class are an opportunity for students to rest and relax. In this supportive, non-competitive environment, students will have the opportunity to rest in restorative yoga poses and relax during a meditation technique called Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep. Calming strategies will be learned as well as breathing exercises and mudras or hand postures. This is the perfect class for busy teens who need some time to slow down and rest and for anyone working with anxiety and stress.

My Teen Yoga classes are at Arrive Yoga and Mindfulness Centre.
